Clever Buoy

The Clever Buoy is an intelligent drifting buoy system based on strapdown inertial navigation technology. It utilizes a nine-axis MEMS-IMU inertial measurement unit (IMU) to accurately monitor wave energy and directional spectra, as well as multiple wave parameters, including wave height, period, direction, energy spectrum, and directional spectrum.

Powered by an STM32 microprocessor and combined with advanced ocean dynamics algorithms, it effectively eliminates accumulated errors in solving differential equations and integrating acceleration and velocity, enabling high-precision attitude and displacement observations.

The Clever Buoy offers the following significant advantages:

High-precision observation: Accurately measures wave height (with an error of less than ±3%) and period (with an error of less than ±0.2 seconds), with a wave direction error of no more than ±5°.

Strong low-frequency stability: Effectively eliminates errors in the low-frequency band (approximately 0.04 Hz), ensuring stable and accurate swell observations.

Intelligent spectrum separation: Distinguishes between wind and swell waves, generating their respective energy and directional spectra in real time.

Comprehensive Monitoring: Features intelligent sea surface azimuth measurement, supporting east-west and north-south displacement tracking, ensuring directional spectrum accuracy.

Low Power Consumption and High Reliability: Consuming less than 50mA and a voltage of only 3.3V, the device boasts a lightweight, stable, and reliable design, making it suitable for long-term offshore deployment.

With its high accuracy, low power consumption, and intelligent features, Clever Buoy is widely used in marine scientific research, offshore engineering safety monitoring, weather forecasting, and wave energy assessment, providing efficient and reliable data support for ocean observations.

Advantage 1: It eliminates the cumulative errors in the process of solving differential equations, acceleration and velocity integration, so that the attitude and displacement of the buoy can be accurately monitored. Advantage 2: It eliminates the instability error in the low-frequency range (around 0.04Hz) of the wave spectrum and directional spectrum, thereby ensuring the accuracy of the surge spectrum and surge element observation.
