A sensor buoy is a floating platform equipped with state-of-the-art sensors for monitoring environmental and oceanographic conditions. These buoys play a crucial role in collecting real-time data on variables such as temperature, salinity, wave height, wind speed, currents, and water quality. Sensor buoys are used in oceans, rivers, and lakes and are essential tools for scientific research, weather forecasting, maritime navigation, and environmental protection.

Most sensor buoys are powered by solar panels or batteries and are designed to withstand harsh ocean conditions. The collected data is typically transmitted via satellite or cellular networks to monitoring stations for analysis. This allows authorities and researchers to monitor climate changes, detect pollution events, and even provide early warnings of natural disasters such as tsunamis and hurricanes.
Sensor buoys are also being integrated with smart technologies such as AI and IoT to enable more efficient data processing and predictive analysis. Whether used by environmental agencies, oceanographers, or the offshore industry, sensor buoys represent a crucial interface between engineering and environmental science, helping us better understand and protect our aquatic ecosystems.
Product attribute
Sensor Buoy is an intelligent and autonomous monitoring platform that uses the latest Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and a series of wireless sensors to collect and transmit environmental data in real time. Through reliable communication networks such as 4G, 5G, and the BeiDou satellite system, Sensor Buoy continuously sends monitoring data to a centralized management platform for analysis and decision-making.
Structurally, Sensor Buoy consists of several integrated subsystems. An anchoring system ensures that the system remains stable in place even in rough sea conditions. The data monitoring system includes a wide range of sensors that can track surface and subsurface parameters. These include meteorological sensors for meteorological conditions, wave sensors for surface dynamics, and multiparameter probes that measure underwater water quality indicators such as dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, and nutrients. In addition, the system can be equipped with Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) to assess current speed and direction at various depths, as well as instruments for temperature, salinity and depth monitoring. Underwater cameras provide a visual inspection capability for marine ecosystems and seabed conditions.
The data acquisition and transmission system processes and encodes the data before transmitting it wirelessly to land stations. The entire system is powered by a solar power unit, which allows for long-term autonomous operation with minimal maintenance.
Due to its versatility and robustness, the sensor buoy is widely deployed in estuaries, marine natural refuges, coastal zones, ports, aquaculture facilities and offshore engineering sites. It plays a crucial role in marine environment monitoring, early warning of disasters, scientific research and sustainable resource management.

Packing and transportation

Reasonable design of packaging, according to the size, characteristics and quantity of products, the use of lining materials such as foam, sponge, etc., in the wooden box to reduce the vibration and extrusion of products in the process of shipping.
