In the vast ocean, acquiring real-time, accurate wave data is a core requirement for scientific research, marine engineering, shipping safety, and new energy development. However, in harsh sea conditions and remote environments, ensuring long-term, stable operation of Wave Buoy Sensors without an external power source presents a key challenge in ocean monitoring technology.
Our Wave Buoy Sensor is designed for this purpose. Integrating an advanced energy harvesting system with an intelligent power management module, it enables uninterrupted data collection and transmission year-round, even without an external power source.
Traditional buoys rely on batteries or shore-based power for operation, requiring frequent maintenance and high costs. Our Wave Buoy Sensor, however, is equipped with an Ocean Wave Generator and a solar power system that directly converts waves or sunlight into electricity, continuously powering the sensor and communication module.
This system operates in sea state 4, boasts high energy conversion efficiency, and offers an endurance of over 180 days. Compared to traditional equipment, its maintenance cycle is more than doubled, reducing overall operating costs by 30%.
For energy management, we utilize a low-power microcontroller system and a dynamic sleep mechanism. The sensor automatically enters energy-saving mode during non-monitoring periods, waking only when sampling, computing, or transmitting data is required, significantly extending system uptime. Furthermore, our device automatically adjusts the sampling frequency (1Hz-10Hz) based on mission requirements, improving monitoring accuracy during high-wave periods and reducing energy consumption during calm periods, achieving intelligent balancing.

Our Wave Buoy Sensor utilizes a composite material and stainless steel structure, ensuring both lightweight buoys and strong corrosion and impact resistance. The modular design of the sensor unit facilitates replacement and upgrades, adapting to diverse sea conditions.
Even in extreme environments, it maintains stable data accuracy (wave height measurement range of 0.01-25 meters, with an error as low as ±3%), exceeding the industry average of ±5%.
Through wireless communication modules (such as 4G/5G, satellite, or LoRa networks), the Wave Buoy Sensor reliably transmits real-time data back to the cloud or control center. Even from hundreds of kilometers away, researchers or port managers can view dynamic information such as wave height, direction, and period through a remote terminal, enabling truly remote monitoring and unmanned operations.
