As ocean monitoring technology shifts from traditional instruments to intelligent equipment, a modern Buoy Center has become an indispensable component of the ocean observation system. It serves not only as a data distribution center for buoy monitoring equipment but also as a platform for algorithm analysis, system management, and predictive model operation. Modern buoys utilize a variety of equipment, including nine-axis MEMS-IMUs, GNSS, meteorological sensors, and hydrological sensors, enabling comprehensive monitoring of parameters such as waves, displacement, current velocity, temperature and salinity, and wind speed. Large amounts of data require processing through high-performance computing platforms, and the Buoy Center is the core of this processing platform. Through a unified algorithm framework, the buoy center can automatically complete processes such as wave spectrum calculation, direction spectrum reconstruction, wind and wave separation, and azimuth calibration, ensuring data consistency and comparability across different buoys.

With the development of intelligent algorithms, Buoy Centers are upgrading from "data collection centers" to "data intelligence centers." The future Buoy Center will also serve as a marine big data sharing platform, promoting information flow between research institutions, government, and industry. For example, research institutions can directly access high-quality wave data for dynamics and climate model research; marine engineering units can utilize years of monitoring data to optimize structural designs; and marine ranching and fisheries enterprises can adjust their aquaculture strategies based on environmental data.
